John Wiley & Sons, Inc. (NYSE: JWA and JWB), a global leader in research and education, announced today an open access and subscription agreement with the Hungarian Electronic Information Service National Programme (EISZ). This three-year transformative agreement provides researchers in 13 EISZ-affiliated institutions with access to read journals published by Wiley, and the ability to publish open access with Wiley.
No access to ScienceDirect, Scopus, and SciVal from 11th January 2019
The access of the Hungarian EISZ consortium to ScienceDirect, Scopus, and SciVal is discontinued from 11th January 2019 onwards. The negotiations with Elsevier had been terminated on late December 2018 as the publisher did not address the requirements of the Hungarian consortium regarding full transition to Open Access.
EISZ Department is at full disposal in case of any questions.
Open Access agreement with Springer Nature
Springer Nature and the Hungarian Academic Consortium (EISZ) announced today an agreement that combines reading access and open access (OA) publishing in one single framework. Effective from January 2019, researchers from the participating consortium institutions will gain access to over 2,000 Springer journals and will have the right to publish their research via the OA model in more than 1,850 Springer hybrid journals without any direct costs, allowing wider reach of current findings and a greater benefit for both science and society.
Hungarian Consortium terminates negotiations with Elsevier
EISZ initiated negotiation process with Elsevier in March 2018 regarding the subscription to ScienceDirect, Scopus, and SciVal for 2019. The goal of the negotiation was to reach a read & publish agreement which would facilitate a swift and full transition to Open Access.
